#WednesdayWishList

Today was one of those days I woke up so exhausted I wanted to cry.  I get a lot of anxiety around release days, and have been waking up in the middle of the night on the regular lately.  Once I'm up, I'm up, falling down the death spiral of “what the F am I doing with my life” and “what if.”  What if the book doesn't do well?  What if I get bad reviews?  What if I'm not good enough to make a career out of my passions – writing and trashy romance?  What if what if what if…for hours, until my alarm goes off and the dog starts whining in her crate.

Needless to say, all this shitty ass sleep has really caught up to me this week.  I can't tell you how grateful I am to be heading to Bald Head next week with my family.  The timing couldn't be more perfect – I need to unplug, de-stress, and refocus.  I think some QT with the fam and five hundred margaritas should do the trick.

I know I did a beach-themed #WednesdayWishList last week, so I thought I'd share some of my most recent purchases that I hope to be using not only at the beach, but throughout the summer as well.

White Birkenstocks

White Birkenstocks

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that Ben and I got matching pairs of these Jesus-themed sandals.  Regular flip flops are fine for around the house, but walking through Charleston made me realize I need shoes with more support – otherwise my knees and back start killing me.  Getting old, as Henry Lake once said, is a most depressing endeavor.  Luckily enough these gems are super comfortable with tons of support.  I usually wear an 8 or 8.5 in sandals, and the 38 fit perfectly.

Karla Colletto One Shoulder Swimsuits

Karla Colletto2

Karla3

I bought a Karla Colletto one shoulder black swimsuit for my honeymoon years ago.  To this day, it's still my favorite suit.  So when I checked out Karla's suits on Everything But Water, I freaked when I saw they had both these one shoulder beauties on SUPER clearance.  I'm talking $300 swimsuits I got for $70.  Like most swimsuits, these run small; I wear a size 8 in both.

Funkadelic Pareo

Pareo-610x915

I love a good pareo – so versatile.  You can wear it as a halter, a skirt, a dress, or a mini-skirt, depending on how sassy you're feeling.  This one is not only super cute in person – it goes with my new suits perfectly – it's also half off.  For $25, you really can't beat it.  If neutral is more your speed, the tan version is only $10.  Tempted to order that one too!  The little fringe detail is just icing on the cake.

Denim Shorts

Jean-Shorts-610x610

I went through a phase where I stopped wearing shorts completely – until I discovered the spray tan.  Now I'm all about them.  I like this pair because of the higher rise and slightly longer inseam.  Hoping to have some time this weekend to try a pair on before I head to the beach.  Plus they're 30% off – can't beat that.

Halsey BADLANDS Album

Halsey

I was trolling through iTunes yesterday, looking for some new jams for my new project – music makes that old bitch my muse sing – and stumbled across Halsey.  To say I am obsessed is an understatement.  I downloaded “Ghost”, “Hold Me Down”, and “Is There Somewhere”.  I think “Hold Me Down” may be my favorite of the moment.  It's sexy, a little dark, and totally in your face.  Think Florence + The Machine meets  Marina and the Diamonds.  I'll have this on repeat during my long walks on the beach next week.

Casamigos Blanco Tequila

Tequila

I hope George Clooney makes his tequila in handle-sized quantities, because I am bringing a boatload of this stuff to Bald Head for some serious margarita makin'.  I've become a big fan of silver tequila, and this one is apparently off the hook.
